Where are my TikTok favourites? Finding, sorting and searching saved TikToks
How to find the TikToks you've favourited, organise them into collections, download a backup, and search them by what was said in the video.
TikTok is where a lot of recipes, workouts, travel tips and how-tos get saved, and then forgotten. The videos are short, but there are hundreds of them, and the caption rarely says what the video actually covers. Here's how to find your favourites and keep them usable.
Where to find your favourites
- Go to your profile.
- Tap the Favourites tab (the bookmark icon next to your videos).
- Your saved videos are under Videos. Sounds, effects and other things you've favourited have their own tabs, and any collections you've made are under Collections.
To favourite a video, tap the bookmark icon on the right of the screen, or press and hold the video and choose Add to Favourites.
Sorting favourites into collections
Collections are TikTok's folders. From your Favourites, open Collections and create one, then add videos to it. Like any folder system, it works best when you file as you save, and with a handful of clearly named collections rather than dozens.
The limits of TikTok favourites
- No search. You can't search inside your favourites, so finding one video means scrolling a grid of thumbnails.
- Captions don't say much. A caption of "you need this 😭 #fyp" doesn't help you find the pasta recipe it contains.
- Videos disappear. When a creator deletes a video or makes their account private, it drops out of your favourites.
Download a list of your favourites
TikTok can give you a copy of your data, including the videos you've favourited:
- Open Settings and privacy → Account → Download your data.
- Choose JSON as the format and request the file.
- When it's ready, download it from the same screen.
The file lists links rather than the videos themselves, but you can drop it straight into Socials Organizer to bring the whole list into your library.
Search your TikTok favourites by what was said
Socials Organizer brings your TikTok favourites into one library with everything else you've saved, through the browser extension. Where a caption doesn't say enough, the AI watches the video, looking at its frames and listening to what's said, and then:
- gives it a proper title, like "One-pot creamy tomato orzo" instead of "you need this 😭";
- files it into a category, such as Food & Recipes › Weeknight dinners;
- keeps the transcript, so search finds the video by any word that was said in it.
Already use TikTok collections? When you connect TikTok, Socials Organizer offers to use them as your categories, so the work you've put in carries over. Your own changes always win over the AI's.
Videos play with TikTok's own player, and the files used for analysis are deleted straight after. Read more in the privacy guide.
